Rationale An information architecture for GMES is desperately needed in any case, and especially for the In-Situ Observations can play a major role in facilitating interoperability. EEA has responsibility for this task, under delegation from the EC. The Observations and Measurements specification offers significant potential for enabling such an architecture
Dependencies This recommendation depends on the description of work negotiated with the EC under the FP7 coordination action "Coordinated provision of in-situ observation data for GMES" with EEA as defined beneficiary; these negotiations may currently be underway.
