Context	GEOSS AIP-2 Pilot in the field of Climate Change, SANY and InterRisk GMES projects used both WPS 1.0.0 and SPS 1.0.0.
Rationale	Technical Watch has identified in GEOSS and GMES initiative projects that have faced to the need to use both WPS 1.0.0 and SPS 1.0.0 standards. Considering service chaining, it is reasonable assumption to anticipate a combination of processing services based on WPS or SPS standard. Harmonization should ease this chaining especially by defining a WPS profile based on SensorML for input parameters and outputs description.

Main discussion points	WPS and SPS address a different but complementary scope of geographic processing. Complex service based on combination of WPS or SPS simple process WPS profile that define inputs parameters and outputs by using SensorML as SPS does.
Roadmap	WPS 2.0 SWG will publish WSP 2.0 IS document mid 2010.
